Greg has had an interesting career path that led him to establish Masterpiece Custom Builders. He spent the first 15 years of his career in the logistics industry, managing the transportation of perishable food products for a Asheville based meat broker. Looking back, this was very useful experience as it helped him learn how to be a detailed scheduler and how to communicate with accuracy.

Shifting from logistics to construction was pretty seamless for Greg as he began managing remodels for a national investment company. While there, he oversaw more than 500 single family remodels. Following that journey, Greg was asked to be the Project Manager for a boutique custom home builder in Tampa, Florida. His projects ranged from 1,300 square-foot cottages to 6,000 square-foot custom waterfront homes, as well as complex upscale renovations. The next phase of Greg's career took him and his family back to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina as he was added to the team of a national semi-custom home builder.

In May of 2017, Greg was asked to join the construction management team as a Residential Construction Manager at one of Western North Carolina's premier custom home builders. His talents in leadership and detailed communication soon led him to a role as Senior Residential Construction Manager. In 2020, he was honored to receive the prestigious Construction Manager of the Year Award presented by The Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This award is a testament to his dedication to serving clients with excellence and maintaining exceptional construction practices.

In the beginning of 2022, Greg was promoted to New Client Manager due to his construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, distinct attention to detail and his dedication to helping clients achieve their dreams. Greg's sensible feedback and visionary approach created the strong foundation on which each project was constructed as he guided clients through the critical first stages of planning for their project.

Drawing from his knowledge and experience in the construction industry, Greg decided the next logical step for his career would be to obtain his North Carolina General Contracting License, which he achieved in 2022. He earned an unlimited license which allows him to pursue any size residential or commercial construction project in the state.

Today, Greg is excited to lead Masterpiece Custom Builders with a goal of delivering results that not only meet, but exceed your expectations. He would love the opportunity to help turn your dream project into a reality.

Austin's journey in the construction industry began while in college at Mars Hill University. Austin got his start by beginning at the bottom, spending a summer as a laborer in Atlanta, Georgia, working on high-rise multi-family construction sites for a large commercial contractor. His hard work did not go unnoticed as he was quickly promoted to Assistant Project Manager by the end of the summer. Hoping to keep Austin on board after he returned to school, the contractor offered him a position as a remote estimator, a role he continued to fulfill throughout his final two years at Mars Hill University.

Armed with a degree in Business Administration and minors in Accounting, Finance and Marketing, Austin returned to Atlanta to resume his role as Assistant Project Manager with the same commercial contractor. Austin quickly gained experience in large commercial projects, focusing on scheduling, budgeting, buyouts, forecasting and estimating.

In 2021, the call of the mountains became too loud to ignore as Austin and his wife, Kait, decided to move back to Western North Carolina and accept a position as Assistant Construction Manager with a premier custom home builder. Within a few months, Austin was promoted to Residential Construction Manager. Over the past several years, Austin has enjoyed meeting new clients and building relationships with them by managing the construction of their custom homes, helping to turn their dreams into reality.

Austin has had the opportunity to manage the construction of a wide variety of projects ranging from 2,200 square-foot townhomes to 11,000 square-foot custom homes. He has determined through these experiences that his passion lies with building residential custom homes. From these experiences, Austin has learned to prioritize the details of a project in order to help them run seamlessly. He understands the importance of clear and concise communication with his clients and trade partners, as well as the necessity of upholding high standards in home construction.

Austin has set a personal goal to ensure that every client he works with sees in him the two core values of Masterpiece Custom Builders: integrity and excellence. His dedication to these core values, both professionally and personally, has led him to join Masterpiece Custom Builders. Our daughter Stephanie's favorite Bible verse was Ephesians 2:10. From the New Living Translation it reads "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

We chose the sunflower as our company logo because it was our daughter's favorite flower, which makes it especially meaningful to us. Beyond its personal significance, the sunflower symbolizes our values. Just as a young sunflower tracks the sun, turning its face towards the light and reorienting each day, we strive to live our lives in a similar way - constantly seeking and reflecting the light of Christ in how we live and love others. Therefore, the sunflower is the perfect emblem for our logo.
